Disclaimer - I’m non-technical and a new user. I’ve been using Claude code to build a recurring invoice Shopify app for my small farming business. Over the last few days of work, I’ve noticed that the context window will instantly jump up a ton after starting a new session. I have the feeling I must not be following some beat practices or that I’m not handling memory or something correct. Maybe claude.md or other reference files are too large? I typically use opus for planning/review and sonnet to code. This issue never really seemed to exist for the first few weeks I worked on the app. I’m not sure if it’s something I’m doing wrong or if what I’m working on right now (review and ironing out a couple bugs) just sort of lends itself to requiring more context given the nature of the work. Maybe someone has some tips. I’ve heard I should be refining my Claude.md and cleaning it up but I never have. I have a number of other markdown files that I use to note other things (one for requirements, a backlog, a user-guide) Any tips are helpful submitted by /u/No_Cell6708
