I’m looking for random, out of nowhere funny, goofy shit like this. I’m sure you guys have me beat Wife and I are both in our mid-30s. I love my wife dearly, and part of what’s so endearing to me about her is the random side quests she goes on. It seems like once every couple of months she’ll say or do something that would make most people do a double take, and at this point I just chuckle. Today I worked all day and got home right before dinner. We all sat down as a family and talked. Talked a lot. We talked even more over the next hour while we played with our kids. We went to put our kids to bed, and my youngest fell asleep quickly, so my wife got on with whatever downstairs. I came down about 10 minutes later. It was now 8:30pm. Keep in mind, we’d been talking to each other for the last 2.5 hours. As I came down the stairs, she was pretty eager to show me a video on her phone. I proceeded to watch a barista narrate his foam skills, claiming to make a Pegasus in the clouds. It ended up being a 2-minute video of him making a giant dick and balls cloud and a small Pegasus. Pretty funny. I left the room to grab workout clothes. Before I made it down the hallway, I heard her feet pitter-patter and then slide across the floor. Then, in the most nonchalant voice humanly possible, she said: “Hey babe, I’m gonna run out real quick to pick up a tree.” Naturally, that wasn’t in my top 1,000 things I was expecting her to say, so my brain was somewhere between “Who tf picks up a TREE at 8:30pm?” and “Okay yeah, I guess for you that makes sense.” But before I could get out any form of acknowledgment, she followed it up with: “Ohhh, before I do that, there’s a bunch of patio furniture I want to rearrange in the back. Want to help me?” I just laughed, turned around and went into the backyard to help her. It’s not the tree or the rearranging patio furniture that blows me away. It’s that not a single mention of either of those things previously since I had been home. The foamy dick Pegasus video even made it to me before her telling me she was gonna pick up a fuckin tree!
