Just a small rant about my bike which was stolen last night. I have a nice e-bike - a few years old - which I use to get to the train station to go to work. I live in a small village close to Frauenfeld, and I keep my bike in the garage, locked, on charge. The garage is open at the front - more of a car port. It has a GPS tracker installed in it, linked to an app on my phone, installed by M-Way. Anyway, I go out this morning to get my bike and it has gone. I check my bike app, and it’s in the next door village close to the centre. I call the police, explaining the issue, and they tell me to go and retrieve it myself if I can. I head to the next village, and find it sitting outside someone’s garage at a rather run down property, unlock it with my key, and find out the gears and chain are totally twisted around. There was an E-Scooter parked next to it, quite possibly stolen also. I took a lot of photos and screenshotted the app location and the time the alarm was triggered (23:51 last night). I cross the road to take a wider angle shot of the house and location, and I call the police - again, they are not interested, even though I have located stolen property, and tell me just to file a report. At this point, some dude comes out of the house and starts fishing in his car and drives off. Not sure if he is the perpetrator. Back to the bike: it’s hard to move because the back wheel will not rotate, so I wheel it on it’s front wheel to a small restaurant 30m away, lock it up, and ask the staff if I can leave it there until I can pick it up later with my husband and our van. They are very nice, no problem at all to leave the bike hidden there. My husband wants to file charges, and I want the police to take this seriously. If they dealt with the petty crime, surely this would deter the larger crimes? I am very disappointed with Kapo Thurgau, I thought they would be more interested in apprehending a thief. Of course, the police station is closed from 11:30-14h so I have to wait for them to reopen… submitted by /u/Outrageous-Garlic-27
