Was using opus 4.8 for something and was surprised to see this in its output: “turned out to be right — but the honest状态 is that it’s now confirmed by running it ,” Neither I nor the project have any connection to China or the Chinese language at all. The English translation I found for those characters is “State, condition, or status” and “state of affairs”, so it seems to fit into the sentence appropriately. I’ve seen syntax errors, random strings, and all kinds of other strange things leak into output before but I’ve never seen text from another language that actually appears coherent within the sentence.
