A few years ago I ended up spending two days in jail after being convicted of reckless driving in Virginia. I wasn’t arrested when I was pulled over, so having to actually report to jail later was a pretty surreal experience. I’ve always been fascinated by jails and the process surrounding them, so I’m curious about other men’s experiences. What was intake/booking like? How long did processing take? What was it like being held before being assigned a cell? What happened with your court appearance, release, etc.? Even things like what you were allowed to bring in or how you got your personal belongings back afterward. I’d be especially interested in hearing from anyone who went to jail for something relatively minor, like reckless driving or an FTA warrant, but I’m interested in hearing any experience. I’d love to compare notes and chat with anyone who’s been through it. DMs are open too if you’d rather share privately. submitted by /u/baseball8610
