I don’t think I should have any reason to worry about my ability to be attractive to women, but I still do all the goddamn time. I lost my v card pretty late at 20 (now 22), and then proceeded to fuck way too many people. I regret some of it and tbqh I wasn’t really attracted to some of them. I’ve never been in a long-term relationship. Even worse, outside of 3 partners, the rest were all one night stands. I don’t think I’m terrible looking, I do struggle on dating apps but I’ve had a few dates and hookups through them; apparently my pictures are terrible. I’ve been told I’ve got decent features and I’m about average height for a guy (5’ 10) I fear I come across as too ‘soft’ to most women. I live in America but I’m not an American (non-white). I do have an accent but most people seem to understand me fine, and I have been complimented for it a few times. I feel like there’s this idea of your 20s that most people experience that I’m going to miss out on. I feel like I’m too weird/neurodivergent/just broken in some way to enjoy life the way others do. On the one hand, I don’t want to betray who I am. On a fundamental level, I am a weird nerd who has 700 hours in Factorio and wears a watch he cobbled together himself. On the other hand, I fucking hate that that’s who I am. Its an uncool, terminally shut-in way to live a life, and doesn’t seem like it will lead to any sort of real fulfillment. And I kinda like what not being that feels like. If the nerd was in the drivers seat I’d still be a viirgin. I think its a combination of racial hangups+insecurities+anxiety issues but I’m curious about how other men deal with this, especially with how few options we get to self-sexualize. submitted by /u/EnginearingMyLimit92
