Hi! I have been speaking with some of my female friends recently about the rise of GLP-1s and normalization of cosmetic surgery. One of the topics discussed was how often men seemingly cannot tell when women have these procedures done or use these products - similar to them being unable to tell when women wear makeup - whereas, to us as women, it’s very obvious. For example, one of the women in the discussion had a (very obvious) cosmetic surgery - but the amount of men in particular that seem to think those features are natural has really surprised her. Not being able to tell apart bodies that have and haven’t been cosmetically altered obviously raises concerns around realistic standards for women. I’m curious to hear from everyone (but in particular the men) - what do you think about the normalization of these products and procedures? Do you agree with the face that men often seemingly can’t tell (even when women sometimes can)?
