Last year I switched from Swisscom to Wingo to save some money. I have succeeded with that goal but having to deal with this bullshit is questioning me how much money is that worth. Unlike Swisscom, Wingo does not cap roaming data when you reach your limit and instead will just bill you at a rate like it’s 1999. The roaming cap you can set in the account only is for telephone and SMS! Depending on which “abo” you have, you may or may not be notified when you are reaching you limit. My “abo” which was recently migrated by them adding CHF 1.- more per month is not a real “abo” anymore for what ever reason… There is no way for me to block additional roaming charges if my phone for example is lost and I can’t physical kill the data. Here you can read my discussion with support: https://imgur.com/a/HrAItPg IMO, this is intentional to maximize profits as many will just pay the overage. It’s a disgusting trend among companies to fuck over the customer in every possible way. CHF 60.- isn’t the end of the world but if I hadn’t caught it, it would have been a lot more. I hate that I have to now always closely monitor everything because so many are trying to screw you in some way. submitted by /u/sschueller
