I really don’t get why Jagex is so hell-bent on not introducing a better option for the Agility pet than Penguin Agility. It’s an outdated course that gives very little XP, no other rewards and most importantly, is insanely boring to do. Yet simply because the dev who coded the Squirrel pet decided it would have the best rate in the game, pet hunters and everyone else who wants a cute squirrel still has to slave away at this course for an average of 130 hours years later. I mean seriously, why does this level 30 course even have the highest pet rate? Is there any other skill where doing a level 30 method normally without any tick manip or exploits gives by far the best pet rate? There were so many great opportunities to move the BiS pet method away from this boring course: Colossal Wyrm (AFK), Wildy Agility (high risk - high reward), Sepulchre (high skill expression) and now Graveyard (high intensity for good rates), yet Jagex chose to give them sub-par rates, likely just so that people who had already grinded the Squirrel at Penguin wouldn’t have their achievements “devalued”. The argument for making Sepulchre the BiS course was right there: it’s the hardest, most skill-expressive course in the game (by far), it has the highest requirements and speed actually matters there, giving skilled players a chance to grind the pet out a lot faster. Instead, the pet rate from Sepulchre is ridiculous (I haven’t calculated it exactly, but a good player doing around 8-9 runs an hour will take over 200 hours to get it, nearly double that of Penguin Agility). And now they passed up another chance with Graveyard, making the pet rate just good enough to be “a nice option”. PENGUIN AGILITY IS ANCIENT CONTENT AND SUCKS! It’s okay to introduce new, better methods if the old methods are terrible! We don’t need to keep getting stuck in the “I had to suffer to get this, so you have to suffer equally” loop. submitted by /u/ElyziumLoL
