So i(19f) have had a handful first dates(ranging anywhere between 19-23m), and when i get them flowers i get mixed responses. The majority of a time its negative id say like 80% Because idk maybe something about their masculinity being idk threatened… because the reaction is l like “I should be the one getting you flowers , why did u get me flowers” (sounds kinda mad/upset) Or its like “Oh i was also gonna get you flowers but xyz”(just saying an excuse but like i didnt ask for one ykwim😭) And one time after our date a guy was just saying how it was weird that i brought him flowers and saying how I shouldn’t have done thst because it makes him feel like he shouldve brought me flowers instead and that it was embarrassing holding the flowers i bought for him… And like most of the times they dont say thank you or anything ykwim just like an a knowledgement “oh you got me flowers” Like ive gotten like three actual postive responses usually something like “Thank you no one has ever done this” Theres never been an instance where I’ve received flowers so i dont have the data if that were to happen So idk I thought it was a sweet thing to do, especially since like they’re flowers! Also its a great first impression! Sigh im gonna on a date in a few hours so depending on the responses i might get flowers TLDR: should i continue to get guys flowers on the first date, even if the majority have negative responses… like i know it depends on the person but idk i thought most if not all would appreciate it 🤷♀️ submitted by /u/Various-Marketing-36
