Yesterday, I was chatting with a single mom friend (f41). I asked how her son (Carlos)(m15) was doing. She started saying he’s interacting with girls in his class. I joked about him having a girlfriend soon. She was kind of in denial about it. She did tell me that Carlos doesn’t open up to her about girls. My friend is a single mom because her husband passed away some years ago. As far as I know, she doesn’t have a man in her life. I offered to talk to him about relationships. And she likes the idea. About me: I live in Central America. I never had kids. This is my first time having “the talk” with anyone. Carlos is tall, athletic, shy and probably a magnet (lol). At this point in time, I don’t think he’s been intimate with anyone. My question here is, how should I approach this conversation? Even as I’m writing this, I’m feeling a little aprehensión. But this kid is starting his journey into adulthood without a male role model. I’m looking for opinions - especially from men who have been role models for boys approaching adulthood. (BTW - if this is not the right sub, please let me know.) submitted by /u/richb0199
