Do you just push it to the back of your mind and avoid thinking about it or have you just accepted it and don’t care? Do you not fear going to sleep every night? I assume most people become aware of their mortality around age 10 but growing up I’ve never seen my peers distressed about it at all, they just seemed to have brushed past it. It feels like I missed something growing up and everyone’s developed without me. When it’s brought up in conversation none of them seem bothered and engage enthusiastically whereas I feel physically sick and feel gloomy for the rest of the day. Even online no one seems bothered at all, I barely see anyone posting about fear of death vs any other topic surrounding it. I developed insomnia for a while from the fear of dying in my sleep and I’m aware that I’m a semi-extreme case but the lack of people talking about it at all (never seen it but not saying those conversations don’t exist) is shocking for me. I just don’t understand how people don’t seem to feel sad about it at all and would like some input. submitted by /u/grimmsnarI
