This is the second day in a row that my emotions have gotten the better of me. I never let road rage escalate, but where I live, everyone drives like they’re purposely trying to fuck with you. It takes everything in me not to lose my temper at these people. Just today, leaving lunch, some asshole pulls out in front of me in traffic making me slam on my brakes. I don’t honk, but I do flash my brights at him to signify that he almost just caused a collision. What’s he do? Brake checks me. Then sits still in the road for 15 seconds where I am trapped behind him, completely blocked in. If I was in a world without my family, I would’ve just emptied my clip into this assholes back window. That’s how furious it made me. I didn’t give him the satisfaction of continuing on with his bullshit. But I felt like a pot boiling over as I tried to carry on with my day. Like I could punch through a metal wall. I am a Christian man and try to lean on Jesus for help but sometimes I just can’t even think straight I get so mad and such violent impulses. It’s more internal than anything, just feeling like I need to burst. Luckily I am smart enough to know that violence is almost never the answer. But it is becoming increasingly harder to think that way in some cases. Please tell me any exercises or helpful information you remind yourself of in times of need like this. Please don’t judge also, I know this is not something a grown man should struggle with, but I am young and feel like my hot head energy is controlling my life. submitted by /u/AspectCool2325
