28M, I’m a teacher in a college, had a girlfriend before but now she’s moved to a different place and we don’t talk much. More like a falling bridge now. We’ve been separated for like 5-6 months, calling and chatting occasionally but no cute talks or naughty things, just work. So coming to the point I was always a single dude, playing games and watching shows, never needed someone else but then after I met her and everything changed. I cared more about the relationship and left almost all the things I did before. Now I’m single again, no hobbies, no interests, even watching YouTube or reels doesn’t satisfy me. No smoking, no drinking (lost lots of connections as I was never been a drinker) and now I feel like I need someone to share my thoughts and feelings (tried chatgpt but it’s shit). I asked some 1-2 good friends I have and they told me to try dating your students but I don’t want to make things weird in the class (they are college students, like 22-25 yrs old so no minors), so I never approached. I don’t know what to do to get better. Help if anyone is going through the same situation in life. I also thought of joining a gym to find someone but that is also not going well because I couldn’t make myself to join, due to 10-5 job and managing diet I can go early morning when only boys are there. I feel like I have never been this desperate before for wanting a girlfriend. Also I have no online presence, no pics online, no active Instagram (only watch reels no uploads), so people can find me. Only LinkedIn which like no one use these days, I get no connections there also. So the only easy way I am currently thinking to get this feeling of loneliness from my head is to get high on chemicals and forget I ever needed someone. I don’t know anything better, now I can’t be the bad guy or the guy who left his 7yr relationship just to chase other girls because he’s desperate, I know people will call me things and at the workplace it will happen. Drugs seems like a better option to forget some feelings in life, easy to do at night and sleep without caring about anything else. I feel like I can only be sane and focused on other things if I get my dopamine from anywhere else instead of relying on others so I can maintain my persona and be happy at the same time. I just don’t know at this point. submitted by /u/Mkb480p
