Hey guysss, So basically, I’m M19 and I’m kind of rediscovering myself and going through a whole journey of figuring out my personal style and how I actually want to dress. Because of that, I’ve been slowly rebuilding my wardrobe piece by piece. The thing is, even though I feel like I have a much better idea now of what I like and what I’m looking for, I’m finding it surprisingly hard to actually find clothes that I’m drawn to. I feel like whenever I go shopping, my options are basically just the same mainstream stores like H&M, New Yorker, Zara, etc., and I really don’t want my wardrobe to just be made up of the same stuff everyone else is wearing. I’m not necessarily looking for super expensive designer stuff or anything. I just want clothes that feel a bit more fun, unique and personal, if that makes sense. Stuff where I see it and think “yeah, that actually feels like me” rather than just buying something because it’s one of the few things I can find. So I guess I’m asking: where do you guys actually shop for clothes like that? Where can I look beyond the usual mainstream stores for more interesting pieces? Ideally I’d love to find physical shops around Basel, because I’m not really used to ordering clothes online. I like being able to actually see, feel and try things on before buying them. But if you know some really good online shops too, I’m definitely open to those. I know it’s probably hard to give specific recommendations without knowing my style, especially because I honestly don’t even know how I’d describe my own style yet lmao. But I’d really appreciate any shops, brands, second-hand places, thrift stores, or just general places you guys think are worth checking out. tldr: I’m trying to develop my personal style and rebuild my wardrobe, but I’m struggling to find unique/fun clothes outside of mainstream stores.
