anthropic’s playbook: Subtle enshittification of the current models (fable, opus). Less reasoning, tighter 5-hour and weekly limits. Somehow becomes noticeably worse 1-2 weeks before step 2 Release of the groundbreaking new model (fable 5.2, opus 5.5, etc). Turn a few knobs related to reasoning & capacity and suddenly: OMG guys the new model is smarter and more efficient!! Also give a new weekly reset and people start hailing anthropic as the #1 AI company!!11!!1!! Hype and drama time: hit insane benchmarks that do not translate to the real world (but longer bars and higher graphs are cool right guys?). Then create some drama like AI is gonna rule the world, doomsday is coming so please dear US govt make AI rules stricter for our world peace and harmony (a.k.a. so other new companies cannot compete) etc, etc Repeat NB: I wrote this because my weekly limit is 100% which won’t reset for another 4 days.
