I’m a developer working on existing app and browser-game projects, and I’m trying to find a workflow that consistently produces good code without spending more time managing the process than building the feature. I use Claude Code and Codex. I’ve been exploring Superpowers, GSD, and Matt Pocock’s skills (grill-me / grill-with-docs, specs, tickets, implementation). I’d love to hear from people who have compared these on real projects. One frustration: I tried a structured workflow where a relatively small feature dragged on for days, with repeated reviews and a lot of process overhead. I may have used it incorrectly or picked the wrong workflow for the task. What I’m trying to figure out: How do you scale your workflow to the task? Small bug fix, medium feature, major feature/rework: when do you just prompt directly, use Plan Mode, add a brainstorming skill, or run a full spec → tasks → implementation workflow? What makes you switch? How do you refine the idea before implementation? Superpowers brainstorming, Matt’s grilling skills, or a normal planning conversation? Has combining them actually helped, or does it mostly repeat the same work? Which models and reasoning settings do you use for each stage? Requirements, architecture, planning, implementation, debugging, review. Do you switch models or move between Claude Code and Codex? How do you hand over the context? Does parallel execution actually save you time? Do you run independent tasks through multiple agents/worktrees? How do you handle dependencies and integration? I’m especially interested in whether the time saved survives the extra review and merge work. How do you avoid endless planning and review loops? Reviews per task or one review at the end? What’s your stopping rule? Which parts of these frameworks have you simplified or removed? What custom setup has made a noticeable difference? Your own skills, CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md rules, hooks, context management, or other settings. What improved results enough that you kept it?
