tl;dr : Opus 5 ignored settings + commands and takes detour. Tests patience a lot. I’m a long term Claude user ( personal + enterprise ) who continuously evolves + personalize global claude config for a great experience. However off the late, I too feel like others that this model is inefficient . And in my opinion its weakest link could be the language - both while taking instructions and while giving responses. My observations The responses make you feel like , Opus 5 is not a flagship model but a stepping stone. Its language style is broken english . Hard to read as it tries to cover multiple points in short bursts. It is complicated, self contradicting. Despite fine tuned global claude.md with hard rules to tweak language style , the responses seem inclined towards machine and not human. As it something is overriding your instructions It continuously ignored instructions, went in circles despite compaction and new sessions . And later acknowledged the drift . And most importantly, experience is same for both pro and enterprise licenses. Maybe I am not using it right . Still exploring how to get around this.
