My partner (32M) gets frustrated and jealous that I (28F), as a woman, get stopped by men to be complimented and hit on, receiving affirmation every time I go out while he doesn’t. On the other hand, he has to initiate conversations with mixed-gender groups to potentially get validation from both genders, but to him, but ofc it feels different if it comes from a woman. He is frustrated that he doesn’t get validation like that and feels it is so ‘easy’ for women to get it. He believes that’s why we ( as women) have a low ‘desire’ or ‘crave’ it because we just naturally receive it. He wants validation externally because why not, when I get it naturally. But the thing is, everytime he finds out or sees that i get hit on or complimented, he becomes frustrated and his mood shifts not because of me, its because it shows and it represents what he doesnt get. He has not belittled me or make me feel small for getting it or bring me down, thats not the issue in this case. It just makes me feel “unsafe” that he gets jealous from what i get and im bothered by his desires that one of the reasons he goes out to drink at night is to seek out external validation from women. I dont think he will cheat, however, i dont like the idea of him entertaining a woman whos flirting just for that validation. submitted by /u/tamaninaku
