13 years ago OSRS was a pioneer in the industry by reviving a classic version of the game by popular demand, while taking a massive risk of damaging their franchise by splitting the playerbase. Today, OSRS is often described to be in a “Golden Age” and is seen as the shining example of how to revive classic version of an MMO while adding updates to it which maintain the core principles of what made the game great in the first place. So with that said, I hope the mods allow this discussion to take place as the success of OSRS no doubt was a significant contributing factor to Blizzard deciding to revive classic WoW. To those players who are members of both communities, you will no doubt have seen much scepticism around things that have already been added to the game (for example, a particular race which is faction neutral). This scepticism has in turn been perceived as negativity by other parts of the community, who say that blizzard have got the vast majority of the updates right and that the community should be grateful for what they’ve got rather than complaining. As members of one community who have witnessed 13 years of the evolution of one classic game, how do you assess the oh so important first steps taken by blizzard with their updates to WoW Classic? Have Blizzard given you the same confidence that they can make a similar success with WoW as we have witnessed with OSRS? Or do you believe they already may be heading in the wrong direction? submitted by /u/Lazlow_Vrock
