So, I’m moving abroad for a year and would therefore like to cancel my Salt subscription and switch to a prepaid card in order to keep my number in the meantime. I called Salt to arrange this, and they told me that while it’s possible, they require all prepaid cards to be topped up with a minimum of 10 francs every month . This literally shocked me. Like, if I have to pay a set amount every month, that’s not prepaid, that’s literally a subscription… So, first question: is this actually true? I can’t find anything on their website about this, and the person I spoke to on the phone might be incompetent, I mean, she kept saying ‘soixante-dix’ instead of ‘septante’, and was talking about euros instead of francs… Now, if that’s true, do you know of any providers that offer actual prepaid SIM cards? You know, like we had back in the day: just a line that’s active on which you only pay for what you use. I’m looking for as few restrictions as possible, especially ones that mandate things like “connection to a Swiss network every X months”, and of course, minimum rules about topping up.
