Check it- I have a hook that logs every Claude Code hook event to a file. Same log as my other post, May to early September, one person’s use. TodoWrite: 0 calls out of 60,000+. It never once used the todo tool in my sessions. Errors: 590 of 675 tool errors happened inside subagents, not the main thread. If you alert on errors, filter by agent id or you will be alerted about things the main thread already handled. Subagents come in bursts. During a fan-out one finished every 31 seconds; between my own turns the gap was 14 minutes. Sessions are bimodal: 20 of 30 had between 0 and 26 subagent runs, 10 had between 64 and 734. Subagent lifetimes: the shortest I caught were 7 and 16 seconds, the longest 57 minutes, out of 639. Anything that shows subagents in a UI has to hold them on screen for a minimum time or you never see them. My own hooks stacked with each other: 14,792 firings, 324 bursts of two or more inside three seconds, the worst burst 21. Debounce anything that makes noise. How: a hook on every event appends the JSON to a jsonl, and a script reads it. Curious whether other people see TodoWrite at all. submitted by /u/Green-Winter9648
