The last few days I’ve noticed that I smell my own body odor from my armpits. I never smell BO from myself unless I was sweating a lot or doing a lot of physical activity. This is strange because I’ve been working from home or just at home mostly. At first I thought my usual 72 hour dove Deoderant I just bought was from a bad batch since it was brand new and I only noticed the BO since using it. I swapped to a brand new old spice Deoderant stick yesterday and the same thing. My deodorant, which used to last 24 hours, is now not lasting 7 or 8 hours. I wash my armpits with soap and use the same Deoderant I always have for years without issue… so what could be the issue? Is this a sign of some sort of medical thing or fungus or something? Has anyone else experienced this? Edit: I usually use 72 hour sandalwood dove men’s Deoderant (aluminum free, plant-based moisturizer) and liked the smell and protection, but this time got “extra fresh” 72 hour Deoderant with “control odor causing bacteria” And my new old spice is “fresh high endurance” Deoderant Once I noticed BO I scrubbed more than usual with soap in the shower and swapped to old spice to see if my dove deo was a bad batch but I still have the issue. Part of me wondered if it was the “enshitification ” of the brand and maybe they changed the product to make it worse but cheaper to make or a bad batch. Now I’m wondering if it’s bacteria or something submitted by /u/mikerichh
