Is it just me or does ‘slowing down,’ changing regulations, and freaking out not really make sense? Would this not just keep the key players dominant in the market. Strict regulations (that they will help create and design) essentially blocks out any upcoming competition. Also, stopping development or availability of new advanced models just means they will be built and kept behind locked doors and be available to special groups given access. Essentially locking out all regular people from the most profound technology of the future. Is this really what people want? Furthermore, there is no guarantee any of this hysteria will have any impact whatsoever on the advancement of Chinese AI development which everyone is freaking out about. These are my thoughts.
