I want to use Claude Code on projects stored locally on my home Mac while I’m away, from either the mobile app or a browser on another device. I’ve been going in circles on this with Claude and I’m hoping someone who actually runs this setup can point me in the right direction. I’m not an engineer and I’m new to GitHub. My main problem: From another device, I can continue sessions that were already started on my home Mac, and I can start sessions in projects that are on GitHub. But I can’t start a new session in a local project that isn’t on GitHub. Is that possible, and if so, how? Setup: Old MacBook in clamshell mode, always plugged in. I set it to never sleep, turned off FileVault so it logs back in after a restart, and run Claude Code in Terminal using tmux so the session stays open. I don’t fully understand all of it, but the Mac does seem to stay on. Other issues: Sessions sometimes show as archived in the mobile app and I can’t get back into them. I’d rather keep working on my local files and only use GitHub for version history and backup, not as the main place I work from. What’s the best way to set this up? submitted by /u/REDandBLACKpack
