I’m wondering if people’s issue with Dario’s pace the frontier is that he, a CEO of an AI company said it. There was a post today called “Mark Zuckerberg rejects calls for industrywide AI slowdown”. You would think that with the strong negative reaction to Dario’s “pace the frontier” advice, that Zuckerberg’s rejection of Dario’s idea would be met with cheers by the users of r/artificialinteligence . Strangely also no… I’m just wondering how this subreddit manages to think both pacing the frontier is stupid and not stupid. I don’t think there’s been a clear and direct answer to this.
