I’ve been tracking how fast the 5-hour meter moves on my Claude subscription by sending the same Claude Code requests at different times of day and reading the utilization headers that come back. On weekdays between 12:00 and 18:00 UTC (5 to 11 AM Pacific), the same request eats about 1.4x more of the 5-hour window than it does outside those hours. Outside the band the rate is flat. Inside it, input, output and thinking tokens all move faster, on Opus and on Fable, on a Pro and a Max account. Has anyone else seen their window drain faster in that band? And has Anthropic said anything about time-of-day weighting on the meters? Anthropic wrote in May that it had removed the peak-hours limit reduction for Claude Code on Pro and Max, and I can’t find anything since then that describes this. submitted by /u/flobernd
