When AI escapes a sandbox, is it the AI or is it the damn sandbox that’s the problem? It’s now a weekly phenomenon that we hear from all these AI labs that their AI escaped the sandbox and hacked someone or something in the wild. While I think most of that are fabricated (oops, that was a Freudian slip, I meant concerning), the real issue is not with the rogue AI. The problem is with the damn sandbox. Maybe the AI isn’t so omnipotent as they want the world to believe. Could it be that the sandbox is just too weak to contain it? Pfff who woulda thought. submitted by /u/sourdub
