Extreme Intelligence (EI or XI) didn’t seem to find enough votes in DJT’s famous poll on X, ultimately losing out to “Super Intelligence”. With AI advancing at an alarming and potentially existential rate, does the name amount to much anyway? Aside from spurring extraordinary speculative investment in .si domain names, what role does the name Super Intelligence / Superintelligence play in the global geopolitical system? Is the rebrand simply a nod to hint at US’ frontier capabilities? Are the decisions of concern so far removed from everyday people that we should feel powerless regardless of if it’s called AI, EI, XI, SI, etc.? Will we cause our own peril and extinction?
