Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice about my financial situation in Switzerland, preferably from people who have been through something similar or who understand the Swiss debt/poursuite system. I live in the canton of Jura and I have a Permis B. I work full-time and have a regular income, but over time I accumulated several debts and now have multiple poursuites. I have been trying to deal with them and pay them off, but I feel like I’ve reached a point where it’s becoming very difficult to manage everything at once. I’m not looking for a way to avoid paying what I owe. I genuinely want to get out of this situation, repay my debts and eventually have a clean financial situation again. I’m just struggling to figure out the best way forward. I’m particularly interested in knowing: Is there any organisation in Jura that can help me make a proper debt repayment plan and negotiate with creditors? Has anyone here used Caritas or another debt counselling service in Switzerland? What was your experience? Is it possible to get help individually if you are married, or will my husband automatically have to be involved in the process? What happens when you already have several poursuites and are at risk of a saisie de salaire? Is there any realistic way of consolidating debts when you already have poursuites, or is that basically impossible in Switzerland? For people who have managed to get out of a similar situation: what did you do, and how long did it take? I know I made mistakes with my finances and I’m not expecting a miracle solution. I just want to find the most responsible way to deal with everything before the situation gets worse. I would especially appreciate advice specific to the canton of Jura, since I know some services and procedures can vary depending on the canton.
