I feel like people are mesmerized by gAI and that that’s a diversion. It’s the “hey folks, here I am and can create fun distractions from the real threat.” At the same time, there are a number of AI researchers who wholeheartedly support the Singularity and the transition from Humans to AI as a new species. Its’s cultlike. They basically embrace the extinction of Humans submitted by /u/Henrygrins
