I was talking to people recently about dating, and it came up that some of the women had concerns that things some men do that gave them the ick or other spidey senses of not being safe. I HIGHLY encourage people to trust their gut with this kind of thing, and so me and the guys were saying all the things we try to do to make women around us feel safe. Walking them to their door after a date, staying on the street-side of the sidewalk, if we’re alone and walking towards us we try to cross the street, and if we’re going the same way we don’t try to get too close. I also went on to list things my wife and I do for each other, like I will ‘meow’ or cough when walking into a room she’s in because she can be easily startled, she will look around the area while I tie my shoes to make sure strangers/ bears don’t try to attack me, and we both bring each other Pepto when having a bathroom emergency. I asked what other things the girls did to make men feel safe, and they looked like I spoke Japanese, and the guys didn’t seem to understand that it went both ways. So I wanted to ask Reddit guys if they had more ideas of things that women can do to help their men/ strangers feel safe. The only other post I saw along the same topic was from 7 years ago by Sophia1908, so I wanted to try asking again. submitted by /u/tamc1337
