When an individual person, a small team, or a company creates something, the result can obviously be bad, generic or uninspired - but it usually doesn’t have this instantly recognizable “this was generated by AI” feeling. With AI-generated content, on the other hand, you can often recognize it almost immediately. Websites / web apps - you can often tell at first glance that they were AI-generated. Music AI photos - even when technically impressive, there is often still a certain “AI look.” Writing and UI/UX have similar patterns. Will we eventually reach a point where AI behaves more like collective human creativity? Humanity collectively produces an enormous amount of websites, music, art, architecture, games, products, etc., yet there isn’t one universal “human slop aesthetic”.
