Hi all, thanks for your thoughts. I’ve been looking back over my life recently, and realizing how few people there are in my life anymore. I never had any deep friends, just a handful of superficial friends who gradually fell away over the years and I haven’t been motivated to replace them. I never got along particularly well with my family, and it’s been more than a year now since there’s been any contact there. I’m friendly with all the people around me at work, but I tend to just focus on doing the job rather than socializing, so after work events or gatherings aren’t a place I feel motivated to go to. How many of us are in situations like this? What do you do with your evenings or time off, how do you plan for your long-term future, does life feel empty or do you fill it yourself? Is this just a me thing, or more common but just not visible because we don’t stand out or make waves? submitted by /u/flavourofanewsky
