Curious what’s going on and what the folks smarter than me about it have figured out. Are max plans leveraging haiku when set to Opus to fake-mitigate the breathtaking token burn? Is it just terrible instruction that they nuked and haven’t fixed yet? Context: I’ve prevented updates since they made ClaudeCode CLI unusable with the 2.1.45 update Slop random output, ignoring instructions, ignoring giant parts of medium sized plans, etc. I notice that the responses here confirmed all the experienced users were getting the same issues after they fixed the January nuking with 2.1.44. I just tried the update, 2.1.50, and it is doing a few things a tad better, but -It ignores giant sections of its plan documents

  • it completely ignores the instructions that forbid it from deleting or overwriting plan files (no way to go back and audit the slop)
  • its makes giant, baffling bug holes (example: took my subscription gate and put a “decline” option that was supposed to collect decline info and then dumps the user into the app behind the paywall lmao). Curious what the newer point releases are doing differently. The plan was semi-mediocre and it Codex5.3 WILDLY improved it. 2.1.44, they largely concur and find little minor issues with eachother. The implementation of improved plan was unqualified trash slop, and the biggest issue. Thanks 🤙 (As always, thanks in advance to the super-smart commentators telling people who have used it successfully for all of 2025 in multiple production apps that it’s user error. You’re priceless, and key to the authentic Reddit experience. Yell to your parents upstairs we said hi.) submitted by /u/theeternalpanda
