25m & looking for advice on confrontation and setting boundaries. I’m afraid of confrontation of certain men and women but specifically men, Ever since i was a kid i was constantly yelled at by my mom , my dad wasn’t around and i was told to do whatever she told me to do , shut up and listen . I was never allowed to speak during discussions or arguments, boundaries wasn’t a thing in my household. So now im 25 im afraid of any person getting loud, angry or just frustrated with me in person. I’m currently a vendor for a popular soda company and i have this guy who’s 20+ years older than me , who’s also a vendor for a popular soda company , different companies same job( i don’t know his age, but i know he’s way older) we spoked a few times when i first got this route i’ve been on for a year but over time he’s just been antagonizing me for way over 4 months now, if my pallet is slightly in he’s way he’ll aggressively push it out the way, if we are working in the same backrooms he’ll tell me im in peoples way , even resorting to calling me an asshole in front of people when i was doing my job by cleaning up my mess in the backroom, i just ignore him, but day by day my anxiety goes up and up, i don’t know how to stand my ground and just speak up for myself, i honestly see him as a bully, someone he can put down. He does not talk to anyone else this way and is actually very cool with everyone having his stuff near his or he’ll say excuse me around other people but with me , it’s like he see’s me and immediately thinks im just this non talkative guy to take on and just antagonizing or just speak to poorly We only see each other maybe 3-4 hours a day since we slightly have the same route . Same thing happened with a roommate last year, i moved out early and took him to court, etc. Years of bullying , trauma, and conflict avoidant leads to this but i don’t wanna be like this anymore, i would like to stand up and not be the guy that just likes to get run over. submitted by /u/Fun-Contest-2511
