Or does “I’m off today” really mean running errands, doing chores, fixing things around the house, and knocking out a never-ending list of “honey-do” projects? At what point does a day off stop being a day off? A lot of the time, when I have a day off, the gym is the only thing I really do for myself. The rest of the time, I’m running errands for my fiancée, mowing the lawn, shopping for the kids, or taking care of whatever needs to be done around the house. I work in safety in the oilfields on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule. A lot of times, on my last day of a hitch, especially when I’m working night shift, I’m already thinking about everything that needs to be done. I’ll be driving the three hours home that morning, and I already have a mental list of honey-dos and projects waiting for me. During my two weeks off, I usually work EMS as well. And on the days I’m off from EMS? I’m right back to running errands, doing chores, and working on projects. So sometimes I feel like I don’t really have “days off.” I just have days when I’m not getting paid. How about you guys? When you have a day off, do you actually get to relax, or does your day off just turn into a second job at home? submitted by /u/FFSoldier57
