This question is mostly about work, but it can apply to marriage and family, too. In my current job, I find myself wildly concerned about the idea of upsetting my boss or asking for too much accommodation (I’m a new parent, dealing with a very sick family member, and have an epic long commute because it doesn’t make sense to move closer to my office). I’m always anxious before meeting with my boss for any reason. I’ve mostly been good in jobs my whole life, because I’m a people pleaser but also was in a place where I could put 120% into my work. But as a parent, husband, and son, I’m lucky if I can give 100% to work. I’m always so worried about upsetting people. I am constantly anxious about just speaking my truth. I’m confident in my speaking but always nice as hell as to make sure I don’t upset anyone. What is your best advice for me? submitted by /u/Perfect-Ad4901
