I remember back in college in the 90’s I asked a professor who was probably in his late 60’s why he was still single hoping he could give me some advice. I honestly don’t remember his reason, but what I do remember he said very kindly to me that he predicted I’ll be single my whole life. I’ll never forget that. I’m guessing that he saw some sort of energy I was giving off. That probably wasn’t the best thing to tell a student in his 20’s. Nevertheless, his prediction has been correct thus far. It’s something I’ve been ruminating in my head since high school. My mother, who I have a distant relationship with, has been asking about my love life since my 20’s. I would just shrug because I honestly don’t know. The interesting thing is that my two brothers are also single and have been for years. I’ve tried to bring this up with them but they’re extremely uncomfortable talking about it. I could go on and on about my single, depressing life but the one question I have for the men out there who have been single their whole lives and finally found someone, what changed? How did you get to that point? submitted by /u/GroundingHeals
