Hi everyone, First-time car buyer here in Switzerland. I’m planning to buy an older diesel with fairly high mileage. I know this model is known for lasting a long time if properly maintained, so I’m not scared off by the age/km per se. The dealer has agreed to a TCS test. I’ve arranged a viewing with them and now want to book the Occasions-Test at a TCS technical centre. Could someone walk me through the whole process? Specifically: Is the car supposed to go to the test before I sign anything, and how do people usually coordinate this with the dealer — do they drop the car off, or do I? The booking form asks for several details from the Fahrzeugausweis. Are these all mandatory? Feld 18 — Stammnummer Feld 21 — Marke und Typ Feld 15 — Kontrollschild (licence plate) Since I don’t have the Fahrzeugausweis myself, is it normal to ask the dealer for a copy/photo of it for the booking? Anything else dealers typically arrange? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/BalticSlav_
