I’m guessing no insurance company has the actuarial data it needs to evaluate this risk and price coverage accordingly. Back in the 1950s, when nuclear power was the next big thing, the U.S. Congress enacted the Price-Anderson Act , which essentially indemnified private companies against claims arising from nuclear disasters. I’m wondering whether the AI industry’s current pleas for some sort of government regulation are really aimed at getting a similar liability shield. submitted by /u/BarnabyWoods
