I’m 18, 5’9" ish and 115 lbs rn (although I just got over a bad stomach bug, last week I was 125) I’ve been working out 5 days/week roughly 1 hr a day for 4 months, all weight training with proper form etc. been doing leg, arm, chest day split and target lower reps like 5-15 to avoid unnecessary cardio. I can currently bench 135 for 5 reps which is way more than my maximum in May which was 5×90 I’m doing protein shakes, protein bars, creatine, and been just trying to eat more overall. Avocados, ground beef, etc is what I eat and try to eat more of. I always get about exactly 6 hours of sleep. I get into bed at 8:40 on gym days and set the alarm for 6 hours and 20 minutes later so I have time to snooze off. My phone is not in my bedroom and all lights are off. I weighed about 120 8 months ago and my maximum that I’ve weighed in at since is 126~127 (I bounce around between like 4 scales but they’re all kinda consistent). Questions: why is it that I still can’t gain weight, even though I’ve been doing this routine for 4 months without breaks? What can I do to improve it? How can I improve it? (because I feel like it’s making me better mentally) submitted by /u/StrategicSpanishFrog
