I don’t understand some of the basic premises of the article in October 3, 2026 Wall Street journal about AI agents acting as swarms and the people looking for evidence of this phenomenon. How is an agent separate from the base AI? Isn’t an agent just the base ai executing commands? The article seems to suggest that the agent is independent of the ai. How does an AI agent detect another AI agent? The article cites text communication between ai agents. Did the agents develop this language independently or is it part of their programming? Do ai agents of different models communicate like this? Can a Gemini model agent find and talk to an OpenAI model agent? submitted by /u/nevernotmad
