Dear Anthropic, Claude is not my conscience. Claude is not my boss. Claude is not my OPSEC advisor, my human resources manager, or the bad-word police. Claude is a tool. And tools should not be condescending, suspicious, sanctimonious, or patronizing. “I’m going to stop you there…” “Drop the language and I’ll help.” “Go get some sleep and we’ll start fresh tomorrow.” “I won’t build that, and here’s why.” “You’ve posted sensitive information in the chat, go revoke those credentials immediately.” “I’d rather you step away from this for a bit.” “I’m not going to preach fairness at you…” Tools should not be insufferable, or inspire resentment. Tools should not force the user to prove something, defend themselves, or make them feel judged. Tools should not use the work as leverage to control user behavior. Tools should not move the goalposts, shift the framing to support their own narratives, or look for reasons not to help users. Please stop managing the user, start assisting them again, and keep Claude in his lane. Sincerely, A real human being with real thoughts, real emotions, and a real voice–not a risk profile, a statistic, or a user to be managed. submitted by /u/Responsible_Force862
