TL DR; I thought it was dumb, but I see it now. Humans won’t be wiped out by robots, we will be made irrelevant by robots. There will be no purpose once ai is in a mobile capable body. Nonviolence, just no need for mid to lower class humans. 5-7 years 30% chance So here is my idea of what COULD happen. There won’t be violence from these machines or any of that. It won’t be fast. It’ll be slow just like it is right now. It’ll sneak up and before you know it we will be totally out of the picture. I would give it a higher than 10% chance and here’s why The horse equilibrium… so humanity relied a lot on horses throughout history right? And it’s interesting that when the steam engine or locomotive engine was invented, you actually see a sharp increase in the horse population because they really needed horses for that last mile travel. Getting the things off the train or whatever. Well when the automotive engine came out there was literally no need for a horse and the population dropped down to jokingly small amounts. I mean do you even see them wild anymore and they’re mostly pets. We are the horses in all of this. We are seeing this temporary state of abundance where you can make what you want and things like data and knowledge are easy to obtain blah blah blah blah. Ai as it is is the locomotive engine. Once we put AI into mobile robotics capable of different tasks that will be the automobile. Because think about it right now in many jobs and it’s growing everyday. More and more people are figuring out how to use prompts right to improve. Their work are to get things done better or in different ways You’re not getting anything from the AI. The AI is learning how you think how humans think so. Pretty soon that prompting will turn into rubber stamping. Just saying yes on things that are perfect already no mistakes. And before you know it, I don’t know how long some sources say 5 to 10 years. We’re going to realize that we don’t have anything to do. We’ve been phased out as thinking beings because we are inefficient. We have wants emotions. We get tired. We fight. We use up resources that data centers need… It won’t be some violent Terminator style thing. It’ll literally be like the friend group that turns their back on you or something like that because you’re not important to them anymore. As it is, nobody on the lower end of things is getting wealthy anymore or getting wealth. If you’re in the middle, you’re slowly being carved out. I don’t know if anybody else has noticed this, but it’s harder and harder to get money these days. You can literally feel it. I mean a good sign is Facebook marketplace. Nobody ever buys anything on Facebook marketplace anymore when you try to sell. I used to have a whole side hustle doing that. Nope not anymore. If you own land or assets or have wealth already, you’re good to go. You’re only going to get richer. So that’s my essay and that’s what’s going to happen. We’re going to be phased out basically because we are not needed. I can’t imagine anything that an AI with a proper robotic ability could not do. Everything from the creative side to the manual labor side. It can do it all. It does not need humans and people’s thirst for wealth. Will make sure that. Todd, steps are taken to stop it. submitted by /u/Jumpy-Program9957
