Given how HC worlds are being set up, there is no reason it couldn’t be a seperate account profile. HC worlds cannot interact with your main accounts. Main accounts cannot influence HC worlds in a way to transfer items or states. Starting a HC account provides no benefit to a new player. Hell, you can’t even connect to a HC account on the same server as a non-HC account. If they wanted, they could easily make these accounts use a seperate profile like leagues or DMM and had no impact on gameplay. They are spinning this as “well a new player could start an HC account and transfer to a main upon death”. But I mean, do you really believe that? Do you really think a ton of brand new players will look at options like “Main, Ironman, Group Ironman”, and think “You know I want? to start my OSRS journey in a disconnected economny where dying completely changes my future playing experience”? Let’s be real, the only people transfering an account will be cashing out the wealth to buy bonds for their other accounts.
