TL;DR: We attended RuneFest 2026 with a 10 months old and it was better than we could have hoped for. Story begins on March 2025, when RuneFest 2026 was announced. My husband and I attended previous one and it was so good we knew we wanted to go again. Sleep deprived, with 3-month-old at the time, we contemplated whether it’s good idea. First international flight, trashed sleeping schedule, flu season and jam-packed schedule of RuneFest with not only interesting panels, but amazing activities you don’t want to miss out. Against better judgement (and that one nasty reddit post) we bought the tickets, geared ourselves with determination and lowered our expectations to zero. (we could still watch the live stream from the hotel room. right?) And boy, we were so wrong. First of all, everyone was so nice. People stopped for a chat, being considerate in general. I haven’t noticed any annoyed glances. It was great to see so many families with kids of various age. Secondly, not only did we manage to see almost every panel we wanted, we got to participate in every skill chip activity. We haven’t had a capacity to do the quests and clue scrolls, but it was our choice to prioritize different activities over the weekend. We couldn’t make the OSRS summit, as it collided with our baby’s night sleep, but guess what. That one we actually watched at the hotel room and it was good enough. Special thanks to the RuneFest support team answering our questions before the event. Shout out to Faux and Mod Rice - you know why. Cheers to all content creators we could talk with, whether about OSRS or personal life. Congrats again to Mod Ayiza, wishing the whole family all the best. And thanks to everyone stopping by - we were the ones with Sailing and Magic skill capes and our own baby Olm. I’m writing this mostly because of that discouraging reddit post we found before the RF26. So next time, when there are other new parents considering coming, they find this positive one. Although RuneFest is not aimed for kids, don’t let this stop you from coming. Come prepared. Schedule your program around your kids. And enjoy. Feel free to write in the comments your experience with kids, or even if you found us distracting. submitted by /u/Sly_Queen
