With how good AI images, videos and even voice cloning are getting, I genuinely can’t tell what’s real anymore half the time. So what happens with legal evidence eventually? Like right now a video or recording can obviously be pretty strong evidence, but if anyone can generate something that looks/sounds real, surely at some point the actual file itself stops meaning much unless there’s some other way to prove where it came from? And then there’s the opposite problem too. Someone could be caught on a real video and just say “that’s AI”. I assume courts already have ways of authenticating evidence and all that, but does AI basically make that process way more important than the actual video itself? m I missing something obvious here? submitted by /u/masoomdon
