Last year i dated a girl for about 5 months. she was a few years older and made probably double what i do, i’d just started my first real job. She never made it a thing. but i’d catch myself checking prices before we went out, picking cheaper places, getting weird when she paid. started feeling like i was always playing catch up. Eventually i ended it. said it was “timing” but looking back it was mostly my ego. took me a few months to shake it off.
