I’m 26M and while things like someone being disrespectful or rude wouldn’t bother me much in my late teens and early 20s, these things have especially started being something i struggle with smoothly handling ever since the age of 25ish. It goes - I feel someone acts rude with me, then I’ll spend a lot of time and mental energy debating in my mind whether that was cool of them or whether they crossed a line and then it goes on to whether i was a p*ssy or whether i was firm and “masculine” enough in that situation. Always in a debate with myself. These things were never that big a deal in my early 20s. I was pretty forgiving with myself and with others. But my self-image as a man has been a topic of significantly increased struggle and debate in my own mind in recent times. Anyways, have other men here experienced a similar transition beginning in their mid-20s ? When did such a transition begin for you guys ? How has it been dealing with it ?
